Ed Cheske Field Shoot
By admin on May 13, 2009 | In Announcements, Meetings

CBH has decided to name one of our annual field shoots after long time member and friend to many, Edward Cheske. Ed has been a member for over 40 years and has contributed his carpentry and handy skills to building most of the bridges and steps out of the field range, and he has been a part of number of projects in and around the clubhouse. As an accomplished archer, Ed has earned hundreds of awards, certificates, trophies, pins and recognition from Chicago Bow Hunter and other archery clubs. He has recently donated many trophies and pins to the JOAD program for recycling to recognize the accomplishments of young archers.
As part of the 'Breakfast Club', he still shoots at the club, and visits at least a couple of times a week, particularly, you will see him on Tuesday mornings. Ed has many stories to share about 'back in the day', when an archery tournament would bring 200-300 shooters and their family and friends. Ed Cheske was also a hunter, but it's been a long time since he has done that. He is possibly considering deer hunting with member and friend, Cindy Lavender this fall with a crossbow.
On Friday, June 5th, 2009, at the general members meeting, a certificate will be presented to Ed for the field shoot dedication. An invitation is extended to all the friends of Edward Cheske to come out on this special night to join him in celebration of his contribution to the club. If you have been touched by this special person, or if you just want to meet a legendary archer and hunter, please make an effort to come to the meeting. For some of our members who need assistance, who would love to come and see an old friend, a ride can be arranged.
Please join us on this night to celebrate with Ed.
